Light Rail on November Ballot

On Nov. 4, 2008, Kansas City, Mo., voters will decide whether to dedicate a 3/8-cent sales tax for 25 years in order to build light rail from the area of Vivion Road and North Oak Trafficway to Bruce R. Watkins Roadway and 63rd Street. The starter line would ultimately connect to a regional transportation system.

If passed, the light rail sales tax would begin April 1, 2009, and would be used to design, construct and operate light rail.
